Philosophy of Little Mozart, Sarasota

When I was a child learning to play the violin my mother encouraged me by saying...“the beauty of music is that it can be mastered by anyone.” Many years later, I believe with all of my heart, that music is truly for everyone. My training as a concert violinist has instilled within me, a work ethic that reflects the highest level of dedication, seriousness, and maturity that I long to pass on to my students. What I find important and successful in teaching, is building up repertoire, musicianship, focus of attention, technical accuracy and tone production. Children develop life skills while learning the violin that build self-esteem, self-control, respect, and a strong cultivated aesthetic sensibility.

Music is a human activity, that can have a profound and positive impact on an individual's life, so therefore, Little Mozart’s teaching philosophy is to teach with a loving awareness of each student’s individuality. I believe that learning the violin should be a positive, satisfying and joyful experience.

I give education through music to help all students be happy and productive people. I take great pride in educating our students to become disciplined and cooperative people, who approach problems as challenges, know how to organize material and enjoy interaction with others. I find it most important in creating a learning environment of co-operation rather than competition. This co-operative spirit, coupled with a positive learning environment, will make students well equipped to succeed in school and in life.

Student Performances

Little Mozart’s teaching style is for the more serious violinist. I believe that learning should be fun and intriguing. In the experience of learning, each student is capable of achieving anything they set their mind to. I focus mostly with giving “one on one” lessons, so that more attention to detail can be attained with each student, and providing the best possible learning experience.
